I was born in San Diego, California which has been my family’s hometown since 1911.
As a self-taught artist, my creativity goes back to my earliest recollections of childhood. Drawing the human figure has been a life-long passion. Mainly my work is focused on acrylic paintings with or without collage but I love to create dimensional works from fabric, rusty objects, and other discarded items.
This painting has been selected for display in the Art on 30th’s black and white show, “Tuxedo”. The show runs for the month of May. Reception in the gallery is scheduled for Saturday, 24 April, 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM. See the link below for more details.
Artist Quote for the week:
“If you have to be certain of the end result, don’t be a painter”
Yes, the party is over, but it was GREAT! I entered this painting in the Robert Burridge Studio Virtual show, “Table Setting” and was awarded BEST IN SHOW! Wait, it gets better! A couple from Pennsylvania purchased the painting after they saw it on the San Diego Museum of Art Artist Guild Zoom meeting! Doesn’t get much better than that!
Quote for the week:
Forget inspiration. Habit is more dependable. Habit will sustain whether you are inspired or not. Octavia E. Butler
Art on 30th’s new show this month is “Red Velvet” and my work has been accepted! I created a bowl, teacup and saucer out of repurposed, tie-dyed coffee filters which were coated with resin. The gallery reception will be held Saturday, February 13th, 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

In August 2020 this painting received one of the top seven out of 37 awards and commendations from 950 entries in the Robert Burridge Studio “Petting Zoo” virtual show judged by Linda Kemp. Grommit is my bed buddy!
